Melena is the number one cause of dog health problems bloody stool issues. Melena and hematochezia cause the dog to have bloody stool. Melena is blood that the dog digested, and looks dark in color. Where can I find dog health and nutritional information on the web?
I’d like to know what’s best to feed my dog (not necessarily specific brand recommendations, but just guidelines) and get some general information about dog health.

I always love your art. Now I love your music
http://www.drsfosterandsmith.com is a great site for shopping and articles, even petsmart.com or banfield.net
any major food brand website – I recommend Nutro or Royal Canin (they do a lot of research and have a fixed list of ingredients in their food, a lot of controlled things in this food as opposed to Pedigree or Purina Dog Chow)
If you get a puppy, the first year is rather pricy, due to all the vaccinations they require that first year. After that, they only need booster shots once a year, so the price gets better. What I would do, is call some of your local vets. Many will offer a "package" deal with a puppy for all it's vaccinations, rabies shot and even spay or neutering. You could also check to see if you have a low cost clinic around you.
Give him good quality dog food! I recommend timber wold( search google) since he is older and might not be able to adjust easily to a raw diet. Also, take him to the vet to see about his rectum, it might be the food, but it could be something serious.
hi all everybody plz watches in my videos and rating .. plz plz plz !!!!!
Has your dog been gaining weight? Weight gain can slow down a dog, as can age. As this is a sudden decrease in activity level, you should definately take your dog to the vet. There could be an underlying medical reason she suddenly has less energy.
Other common symptoms to watch for:
- loss of appetite
- external injuries (sprained muscles, sore spots)
- changes in elimination patterns/consistency
- changes in her stool
- changes in her general mood
Great video!5*
Nice music and painting!
Beautiful video!
My sister has Trupanion pet insurance for her lab-mix and when we found out she had diabetes, we were fortunate that the insurance would cover it for life.
You should think about how much you want your plan to cover. If you want it to cover everything like routine shots and dental then your premiums will cost a lot more. In some cases, it's better to pay for those type of things out of pocket.
Trupanion pet insurance covers 90% of the medical bills and there are no annual limits so if your pet has one really unlucky year then it is all covered.
Here is a good website to get a quote and compare with a bunch of top companies:

Yes you can feed your dog that diet. There is nothing wrong with a natural diet but you do have to give them some other supplements if you go down that track.
When a friend's dog got an internal infection, the vet made her feed him cooked (boiled) chicken and rice, because that is what the dog could cope with.
I feed my dog a combination of foods, as I want to get a balanced diet and don't believe that just processed food is good. If you are not going to feed dog food, there are some vitamins and vegetables that you will also have to give your dog, so that he gets everything he needs.
Also, when my dog was a pup, I did feed her lactose free milk for several months while she was growing and this was recommended to me. Dogs do not cope well with normal milk due to the latose so you do have to get lactose free milk.
These are two great websites that give you information on a natural diet, please read these before you make your mind up. http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/health/diet2.htm and http://www.drianbillinghurst.com/ or http://www.barfworld.com/
